PTI had said on January 21 that Rahul would play for Karnataka in the last league match of the Ranji Trophy which will be his first Ranji Trophy match after playing against Bengal in Kolkata in 2020. Most of India’s senior players like Rishabh Pant, Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ravindra Jadeja played for their respective home teams in the last round but Rahul remained out in the match against Punjab which Karnataka scored by Karnataka in an innings at M Chinnaswamy Stadium and by 207 runs Was won.
Rahul is expected to train with the Karnataka team from Tuesday. The team is headed by opener Mayank Agarwal. The Karnataka’s fast bowling attack has also been strong as Vidwath Kareppa has returned to the team. Caverpa has been out of large part of the current domestic season due to injury. Karnataka is third in Group C with 19 points while Haryana (26) and Kerala (21) are in the first two places. Karnataka will have to win the final league match to keep the hope of making a place in the knockout.
