A grand parade is to be taken out in Delhi on the occasion of Republic Day. Rehearsal is also being done before taking out this grand parade. Regarding the Republic Day parade rehearsal, Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory to commuters in the city and National Capital Region (NCR) for the full dress rehearsal.
In its post on Twitter, the traffic police said, “Special traffic arrangements will be in effect on various routes in view of the Full Dress #RepublicDay Parade Rehearsal on January 22, 2025 and Republic Day Celebrations on January 25, 2025 at Chhatrasal Stadium, Model Town, Delhi. Please follow the advice.” The restrictions will be in place from 6 am to 1 pm.
Delhi Police issued traffic advisory
The alternative routes suggested by Delhi Traffic Police are: Inner Ring Road – from IP College to Azadpur Chowk GTK Road – from Shakti Nagar to Azadpur Chowk Chhatrasal Stadium Road, Gujrawala Town from Burari Chowk via Camp Chowk to Vijay Nagar T-Point
Police have asked commuters and motorists to keep updated about the traffic restrictions in the national capital and plan their journey accordingly.
It is noteworthy that on the occasion of Republic Day on January 25, Chief Minister Atishi will hoist the national flag at Chhatrasal Stadium. Traffic police said that around 250 buses and 1000 light vehicles are expected to come for this event, which may create a traffic jam around the stadium. Therefore, traffic advisory has also been issued for the Chhatrasal Stadium event.
