Former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa is in big trouble. Actually, an arrest warrant has been issued against him in the EPFO fraud case. According to an IANS report, Robin Uthappa is accused of deducting Rs 23 lakh from the salaries of employees and failing to deposit their provident fund contributions while managing Century Lifestyle Brands-Pvt Ltd.
It is being said that a warrant was issued against Uthappa in the beginning of December but he was not at his home due to which he was returned.
As per The Hindu report, the warrant was issued by PF Regional Commissioner Shadakshari Gopal Reddy, who has asked the Pulakeshinagar police jurisdiction in Karnataka to take necessary action. The warrant issued on December 4 has been returned as Uthappa was not found at his Pulakeshinagar residence, officials said.
The former Indian opener and his family reportedly live in Dubai. The warrant states that the office was not able to settle the PF accounts of the affected employees due to non-payment of dues. It directed the police to arrest Robin Uthappa and return the warrant by December 27.
Talking about Robin Uthappa’s cricketing career, he has represented India in 59 matches, he has played for many teams in IPL. When KKR became champion in 2014, Uthappa played an important role in the victory.
