In a post on 'X', Atishi said, “There have been reports of some deaths after Delhi received 228 mm of rain in 24 hours on June 28. The families of those who lost their lives will be given a compensation of Rs 10 lakh.

The Delhi government will provide a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the kin of those who drowned due to heavy rains in the city on Friday. In an official communication with the Revenue Department, Minister Atishi said that “several deaths” have been reported due to drowning after the excessive rains on June 28.

“It is directed that a compensation of Rs 10 lakh be given to the families of those who have lost their lives,” Atishi said in the order. She said the Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) has been directed to identify the people who lost their lives with the help of the area hospitals and Delhi Police and provide them immediate compensation on behalf of the Delhi government.

Atishi said in a post on 'X', “There have been reports of some deaths after Delhi received 228 mm of rain in 24 hours on June 28. The families of those who lost their lives will be given a compensation of Rs 10 lakh. Instructions have been given to ensure that the compensation amount reaches the bereaved families quickly.
