Sansad Diary: Answer continues between the government and the opposition

Parliament was proceeded on the second day today under the second phase of the budget session. The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha still saw an uproar over various issues. Opposition parties including Congress and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) created a huge uproar in the Rajya Sabha on the issue of alleged rigging and delimitation of Lok Sabha seats in the voter list. Congress MP Digvijay Singh accused the government of pushing people from ‘back door’ in educational institutions. The Congress demanded Manipur to be restored to the assembly and urged Prime Minister Modi to visit the state. Apart from this, immigration and foreign bills 2025 were introduced in the Lok Sabha.

Lok Sabha proceedings

The government on Tuesday introduced a bill related to immigration in Lok Sabha and provisions related to foreign nationals coming to India. Amid protests by some members of the opposition, Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai presented ‘Immigation and Foreign Bill, 2025’. Congress MP Manish Tiwari protested against the introduction of the bill citing the rules.
Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Dharmendra Yadav on Tuesday urged the government in the Lok Sabha to re -implement the old pension scheme in the country to ensure the future security of government employees and their families.
Congress MP Gowal Padvi said in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday that China’s model ‘Dipcik’ does not refer to Arunachal Pradesh as part of India and should be banned in such a way and should be raised before the Chinese government.
On Tuesday, the Congress, while referring to the state of unrest in Manipur, accused the government of only focusing on speeches and news and ignoring the real situation, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) credited Manipur to link Prime Minister Narendra Modi to link Manipur with road and rail connectivity. In the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, the second batch of grant for the year 2024-25, the demands of additional grants for 2021-22 and the budget of Manipur were discussed. Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Neeraj Maurya targeted the Central Government in the Lok Sabha over the situation in Manipur and said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should visit this state of Northeast as soon as he returns from Mauriti’s official visit.
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday that the government is ready to provide an annual assistance of Rs 6,000 to all the eligible farmers under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi which is not yet connected to it. He asked all the state governments to help the Center in marking such farmers. Chauhan also said that such farmers will also be given outstanding funds from the past.
On Tuesday, there was a sharp noise between the Trinamool Congress Kalyan Banerjee and some members of the ruling party to stop the MNREGA fund in West Bengal. Banerjee said in the Question Hour that West Bengal is not getting the benefits of MNREGA scheme. Banerjee, taking the name of Union Minister Giriraj Singh, said, “You are the Union Minister. You are behaving like this. Who made you the minister? ”The members of the ruling party expressed displeasure over this. Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal objected to Banerjee’s remarks. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, while addressing the seat, appealed to the members to speak and not react to each other’s comments.

Rajya Sabha proceedings

In the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, there was a lot of uproar by the members of the ruling party over a comment by Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge and later Kharge apologized to Asan, saying that his statement was for the government which was trying to divide it on the basis of region. Deputy Chairman Harivansh told him that the functioning of the Ministry of Education is to be discussed at this time and Kharge should be allowed to happen. In response, Kharge said that his party members have come preparation for discussion. He then used a word that was unparliamentary. Opposing the word, the leader of the House JP Nadda said that the Leader of Opposition has used a lot of wrong towards the posture.
Health Minister JP Nadda said in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday that the government aims to open 200 ‘Day Cancer Care Center’ in the country by 2025-26, where patients will be provided basic facilities and such centers will be set up in all districts in the next three years.
In the Rajya Sabha on Monday, Ghanshyam Tiwari of the Bharatiya Janata Party claimed that the work done in the field of education during the reign of Narendra Modi government was not done in ten years in the last fifty years and the new education policy will make India the same kind of world center of research and education as Nalanda used to be in ancient times. At the same time, senior Congress leader in Rajya Sabha Digvijay Singh on Tuesday claimed that during the rule of Narendra Modi government, poor children are being forced to take education in private institutions and there is nothing but selling education in the new education policy.
