Security has been tightened in this northeast state before Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Mizoram. Director General of Police (DGP) Anil Shukla gave this information on Friday.
Shah will hold a one -day tour of Mizoram on Saturday and will participate in a ceremony held from the middle of Aizawl to the Assam Rifles establishments to a specified campus in Jokhavsang, 15 km from the state capital.
Shukla said that all security arrangements have been made and the security forces have been asked to keep a close watch during the Home Minister’s visit. Shukla told ‘PTI-language’ that apart from the state police, Border Security Force (BSF) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel have also been deployed to keep strict monitoring on major routes and places.
Shah is expected to arrive at Lengpui Airport at around 1.45 am on Saturday afternoon. He will participate in the ceremony of transferring the installations of Assam Rifles from Aizawl to Growth from Aizawl to the 23 sector headquarters of the Mizoram range of paramilitary forces in Khatla area at 3 pm.
