Congress leader Shashi Tharoor said on Thursday that this is not the time of domestic allegations and counter-allegations regarding the Pahalgam terror attack. He said that Islamic terrorists and their Pakistani masters should be destroyed and we should support our government so that it can do the best to achieve it. He also said that India’s commitment should not be reduced for Kashmiri integration and communal harmony.
Tharoor said that for the horrors this week, the responsibility of those who planned and carried out killings, not those who failed to stop them. He said that there is no doubt that we have had an intelligence and security lapse. Security forces cannot be everywhere. But now they have to include common tourist places in the list of places that they have to protect. At least 26 people were killed in a firing by militants on Tuesday afternoon near Pahalgam town in Anantnag district of South Kashmir, most of which were tourists and many were injured. He made this comment in a post on X as he could not return from Lakshadweep on time for the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting.
He said that he is adding his support to the strong and creative statement issued by CWC. Four additional, combining interconnected points, Tharoor said that the objectives of the Pahalgam attack are clear – stopping peace, derailing “generalization”, destroying tourism, raising discontent there by ruining Kashmir economy, increasing dismal towards Kashmiris and other Indians and increasing communal polarization in India.
Modi’s statement
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressing a pledge to all the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam terror attack and the conspiracy to “give a big punishment” than their imagination, said on Thursday that it is time for the terrorists to “mix the remaining land in the soil”. Addressing a public meeting here, Modi said that this attack has not only taken place on unarmed tourists, but the enemies of the country have dared to attack the soul of India. He also some things in his speech somewhere in English, in which he said, “Friends, today I want to tell the whole world from the land of Bihar that India will identify one terrorist and their masters, find out and punish them. We will chase him (of the attackers of Pahalgam) to the end of the earth. Terrorism will never break India’s morale. ”
On Tuesday, at least 26 people were killed in a terrorist attack in Baihalson in Pahalgam, mostly tourists. This is Prime Minister Modi’s first public statement after this attack. Those killed were Manish Ranjan, a native of Bihar, who was posted as a ‘section officer’ in the ASachcha Bureau (IB) in Hyderabad. Originally a family of Manish, a resident of Rohtas district of Bihar, now lives in Jhalada in West Bengal. The Prime Minister said in a message without naming Pakistan to him, “I want to say in very clear words, those terrorists and those who plotted this attack will get a big punishment with their imagination … Saja will be together.” Modi said, “Now it is time to mix the remaining land of terrorists in the soil.”
