Six persons arrested from Aurangabad for murder of three persons in Punjab’s Ferozepur

Six people from Maharashtra have been arrested for allegedly shooting dead a woman and her two relatives in Punjab’s Ferozepur a few days ago.

A top police official gave this information here on Saturday. Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said that the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) ​​of the state police has arrested six shooters from Aurangabad in a joint operation with central agencies and Maharashtra Police.

With this, the police has solved the case of September 3. The accused have been identified as Gurpreet Singh, resident of Chohla Sahib, Tarn Taran, Prince, resident of Kunde village, Ferozepur, and Ravinder Singh, Sukhchain Singh, Akshay and Rajbir Singh, residents of Basti Bagh Wali, Ferozepur.

The Punjab Police chief said that preliminary investigations have revealed that all the arrested shooters were close associates of Ashish Chopra. Ashish Chopra is currently hiding abroad on a fake passport and has been declared a fugitive.

Police said that all the arrested people have criminal background. Cases are registered against them under murder, attempt to murder, robbery, narcotics and arms act. He said that Gurpreet Singh has been declared a fugitive in two cases. Police said that investigation has revealed that these murders were committed due to mutual rivalry.
