Soldiers open fire on Pakistani drone in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch

Mendhar/Jammu: Army troops opened fire on a Pakistani drone along the Line of Control (LoC) in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir. However, the drone returned to Pakistan after hovering over Indian territory for some time late Monday night, officials said on Tuesday.

He said that Indian soldiers posted on the Line of Control saw a Pakistani drone hovering at a height of more than 1,000 meters at around 9:15 pm and fired five rounds in the next 10 minutes to shoot it down, after which the drone returned to Pakistan. According to officials, more than half an hour later, a Pakistani drone was again seen entering Indian territory and two rounds were fired on it, after which it also returned towards the Pakistani border.

Officials said that the soldiers launched a search operation in the villages located on the border early in the morning to ensure that Pakistani drones have not dropped any weapons or drugs in Indian territory. Jammu and Kashmir Police has announced a cash reward of Rs 3 lakh for any information about drones flying on the border to drop weapons and drugs.
