Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc has clarified that the main reason behind his decision to stay out of the ongoing Champions Trophy in Pakistan is the ankle pain. In addition to the ankle pain during the series in Sri Lanka recently, the left -handed fast bowler also said that there were some ‘personal views’ behind his decision.
Stark said on ‘Willow Talk Podcast’, “There are some different reasons, some personal views.” He said, “My ankle was a little pain during the Test series, so I just need to fix it. Of course (World) Test (Championship) is going to be final and followed by West Indies. There is some IPL cricket too. ”
Stark said, “But the top is the top final test in my mind. I will fix my body, play some cricket in the next few months and then (WTC) will be ready for the final. ”
Thirty -five -year -old Stark has played seven Test matches against India and Sri Lanka in these summer and was the most busy among the Australian fast bowlers. The upcoming program for Australia is quite busy with the World Test Championship (WTC) finals against South Africa at Lord’s in June. After that there is a three -Test tour of West Indies. Stark will also play for Delhi Capitals in the upcoming Indian Premier League.
