In the Lok Sabha, an old video of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav is going viral amid the increasing opposition from opposition parties on the Waqf Amendment Bill of the Center, which has created a political stir. In this clip of May 7, 2010, the land related to Yadav Waqf is seen expressing concern over the encroachments and demanding strict laws. In the video, Lalu is seen speaking in the Lok Sabha, “See, there should be a very strict law. All the lands have been grabbed- whether it is government or private, or the lands of those who used to work there. All have been sold. Precious lands have been sold.”
‘Everyone has looted’
Lalu further said that it is not that it was the land of farming. All the lands near Dakbangale in Patna have been converted into apartments. Everyone has looted. From now on … well, bring this today, we will pass your amendment. But whatever process will be made further, it should be strictly. This video has been shared by Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary on social media, in which many people have been attracted to the present state of RJD on the Waqf Bill.
RJD’s right side
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has strongly opposed the Waqf Amendment Bill, 2024. Speaking to ANI on Tuesday, he said, “This is an unconstitutional bill. We are people who believe in the Constitution. People of BJP want to impose ‘Nagpur’s law’; It is not acceptable at all. We believe in ‘Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb’, our country’s diversity is its beauty.” Tejashwi also said that the RJD has opposed the Bill in both houses of Parliament as well as Bihar Assembly and Legislative Council. He said, “We will oppose it in the coming time. Such a bill will never be acceptable to us. Despite his ill health, Lalu ji joined the protest.”
