The latest struggle began on 6 March when the Syrian security forces tried to detain a wanted near the coastal city of Jableh, when Assad’s supporters attacked the security forces, then violence erupted. This violence has caused heavy havoc in coastal areas of Syria, especially cities like Latakia and Baniyas. The bodies are lying on the roads and houses have been burnt. The Syrian government news agency quoted an anonymous official of the Ministry of Defense as saying that government forces had withdrawn control over most areas occupied by Assad. It also said that the authorities have closed all the roads leading to the coastal area to prevent the attacks and gradually restore stability. Lebanon MP Hyder Naser, who belongs to Alvyat sect, said that people are running from Syria to Lebanon for security. He said that he does not have an exact number. Naser said that many people have taken shelter at the Russian Wiusan base in Hamimim, Syria. He said that the international community should protect people who are loyal citizens towards their country.
