RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday claimed that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and JD (U) are misusing government funds under the guise of public relations to promote their political campaign for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections. Speaking at the party headquarters in Patna, Tejashwi claimed that government money is being “misused” through an initiative like ‘Mahila Samvad’, which he described as a front of political propaganda.

Tejashwi said that the Nitish Kumar government has ordered a digital chariot of Rs 225 crore in the name of women’s dialogue. He said that six hundred digital election chariots have been approved by the money of the Chiefs, in which the Rural Development Department has spent Rs 225 crore, which he has described as a ‘journey’ of CM, a campaign whose many names were allegedly changed to hide the real purpose. Tejashwi accused the government of large -scale financial mismanagement, saying that since December 2024, schemes worth Rs 76,622 crore have been approved in just six to seven cabinet meetings, most of which are related to construction.
He also informed that Rs 1,949 crore was sanctioned in the same cabinet meeting on 19 December. He claimed, “Minister is taking 30 percent commission on these projects.” Tejashwi alleged, “Tenders are being released in a hurry to cover the cost of election and local contractors are being sidelined in favor of outsiders.” He described this situation as a robbery of the government treasury. He also warned about the increasing debt of the state and said that “Rs 25,000-30,000 crore is being paid annually as interest, which is 8-9 percent of the total borrowing of the state.”

BJP leader Syed Shahnawaz Hussain said that when they are in power, they do not talk about these things, but once they get out of power, they start making such claims. Work in Bihar is being done with full honesty, and it will continue under the leadership of Nitish Kumar.
