According to India’s bowling coach Morne Morkel, it will be important to maintain continuity under the circumstances of England. Along with this, he admitted that before the Test series starting against England, the team got less chance to play with a red ball, which he is a little nervous.
Morkel said that, I think it is important to maintain continuity in England and when we practice it has continuity, there is continuous continuity outside the field. Our players have to find the process that suits their game.
He said that we have a lot of diversity. Our invasion has diversity, we have players with different skills, so they can do so and also follow the basics well.
India last played cricket with a red ball during the Sydney Test against Australia in early January this year. Apart from this, many players including Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudarshan will play Test series in England for the first time in the current team.
Morkel said that, overall I am very happy with the preparation so far. We have played less cricket with red ball recently, which I was a little nervous, but it was nice to see the way the players practiced in the last three days.
He further said that we have a great team, it is very energetic and you need it. You have to get into the Test series with confidence and have a team spirit.
