Tipitka (in Pali) or Tripitak (in Sanskrit) is a distinguished compilation of Lord Buddha’s teachings, including 108 sections and is considered a major Buddhist scripture.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was welcomed by the Prime Minister of Thailand, Partagarna Shinavatra at the Government House in Bangkok. India and Thailand also exchanged consent letters in the presence of Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister of Thailand Shinavatra. Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Thailand today on a two -day visit to attend the sixth BIMSTEC summit. On his arrival, Deputy Prime Minister and Transport Minister Surya Jungurungarengkit welcomed Modi.

Tipitka (in Pali) or Tripitak (in Sanskrit) is a distinguished compilation of Lord Buddha’s teachings, including 108 sections and is considered a major Buddhist scripture. The version presented to PM Modi is a careful version written in Pali and Thai scripts, which ensures an accurate pronunciation of more than nine million letters. The special edition was published by the Thai government in 2016 as part of the World Tipitka Project to commemorate the 70 -year rule of Raja Bhumibol Advinadej (Ram IX) and Queen Siriqit. Tipitka offering PM Modi is a proof of India’s spiritual leadership and its permanent bond with Buddhist countries.

I fold my hands and accept ‘Tipitak’

PM Modi said that PM Shinavatra has just presented me a Tiptik. I accepted it with folded hands from ‘Buddha Bhoomi’ India. Last year, the sacred remains of Lord Buddha were sent to Thailand from India, it is very happy that more than 40 lakh devotees got an opportunity to see them. I am happy to declare that the sacred relics of Lord Buddha found in Aravalli, Gujarat in 1960 will also be sent to Thailand for darshan. This year, our old relations were also seen in Mahakumbh. More than 600 Buddhist devotees from Thailand and other countries became part of the event.
