In the Rajya Sabha on Friday, Shiv Sena (UBT) member Sanjay Raut raised the issue of Aurangzeb’s tomb and said that after Manipur, Maharashtra is now burning and riots are taking place in Nagpur.
The Shiv Sena member accused the Ministry of Home Affairs of converting the country into a police state in the last few years. Participating in the discussion in the upper house on the functioning of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Raut targeted the government and alleged that the forces trying to destabilize the country were repeatedly taking the name of Aurangzeb.
He said that some of such people are ministers in the Maharashtra government and some are sitting in senior positions in the central government. Referring to the tomb of the Mughal emperor, Raut alleged, “The dead bodies were uprooted for laying new corpses and that too in the name of Aurangzeb.” If you want to break Aurangzeb’s grave, then who has stopped you. ”
He emphasized that there is a BJP government in the state and the center. He said that Manipur was burning till now, but now Maharashtra is also burning. Raut referred to the “riots” in the constituency of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
He said, “There was no riot in Nagpur in the last 300 years. This has been a record of Nagpur. “He said” If the powers trying to destabilize the country repeatedly by taking the name of Aurangzeb, some of them are ministers in the Maharashtra government and senior positions in the central government … If we do not stop them, this country will not be united and unified. ”
He said that it is the work of the Ministry of Home Affairs to maintain the unity and integrity of the country, but over the years the country has been converted into a ‘police state’ and the Ministry of Home Affairs is weakening political opponents and breaking political parties.
In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district, Aurangzeb’s demand for removal of the tomb of Aurangzeb, during the protests under the leadership of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, there were large -scale stone pelting and arson incidents in several parts of Nagpur after rumors of burning a holy verse during the protests under the leadership of Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
During the violence in Nagpur on Monday, 33 police personnel, including three officers of the Rank, were injured. A Nagpur court has sent 17 accused in the case to police custody till 22 March. The police have registered a case against Faheem Khan and five others, the main accused in the violence, for sedition and spreading misinformation on social media.
