The next Chief Minister of Delhi will be among the MLAs, the discussion about the women’s CM face will also intensify

After the BJP’s stunning victory in the Delhi assembly elections, a woman Chief Minister can be seen in the national capital. Sources have indicated this. The party has ended a decade long rule of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) by securing 48 out of 70 seats. At present, there is a round of discussion and speculation about the top post. Sources are also telling that the next Chief Minister will be elected from the newly elected MLAs. Sources said that a female MLA may emerge as the Chief Minister’s face.

Sources said that the saffron party is also considering appointing a Deputy Chief Minister from a low -representing background, as well as said that women and Dalits are expected to be strong representation in the new cabinet. Four of the winning candidates of BJP secured their seats by significant margin. Rekha Gupta won by 68,200 votes in Shalimar Bagh, defeating AAP’s Bandana Kumari by a margin of 29,595 votes.

Shikha Roy won 49,594 votes in Greater Kailash and defeated AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj by a margin of 3,188 votes. Poonam Sharma secured Wazirpur seat, got 54,721 votes and defeated AAP’s Rajesh Gupta by 11,425 votes. Neelam Pahalwan won 1,01,708 votes on Najafgarh seat. He defeated AAP’s Tarun Kumar by 29,009 votes. Meanwhile, Parvesh Verma’s victory in the New Delhi constituency strengthened the BJP’s victory, where he defeated former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Kejriwal captured this seat since 2013, making Verma’s victory a symbolic end of AAP dominance in Delhi.
