The sacred purpose of building generations is being fulfilled by the establishment of Sainik School: Yogi Adityanath

Gorakhpur. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Gorakhpur is an important centre in every respect for the population of more than three crores of eastern Uttar Pradesh, bordering Bihar and Nepal. Today, Gorakhpur is progressing rapidly in the development journey of new India under the inspiration and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Gorakhpur has become the dream destination of education, health and investment in the north-east region.
CM Yogi was welcoming Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar at the inauguration ceremony of Sainik School Gorakhpur on Saturday. Welcoming the Vice President and his wife Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar on behalf of the state and the people of Gorakhpur, the Chief Minister said that it is a matter of good fortune that the Vice President has come to Gorakhpur for the first time. He said that today the sacred purpose of building generations is being fulfilled through Sainik School. This is an important day for eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Gorakhpur is an important place from the mythological and historical period
The Chief Minister said that Gorakhpur has been an important place since the mythological and historical times. It is the place of worship of Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath ji and also the centre for publishing Sanatan literature all over the world through Gita Press. In the fight for independence, during the first freedom struggle of 1857, the foundations of British rule were shaken in Gorakhpur region under the leadership of Shaheed Bandhu Singh. The historic incident of Chauri Chaura in 1922 gave new impetus to the struggle for freedom. The CM said that Gorakhpur is full of natural resources. If we look at Gorakhpur keeping it in the centre, then Kushinagar, the place of Mahaparinirvana of Mahatma Buddha is at a distance of 50 km from here. Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha is at a distance of 90 km and Maghar, the place of Parinirvana of Sant Kabir is at a distance of 25 km. Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Shri Ram is at a distance of 175 km while Kashi, the city of Baba Vishwanath, is at a distance of 225 km.
The unique identity of Gorakhpur and UP has been created by new dimensions of development
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the fertilizer factory in which Sainik School is built was once closed. Today, after it has been restarted, it has emerged as a centre for increasing agricultural productivity, reducing agricultural costs and providing new means of livelihood. The health campaign is gaining momentum from AIIMS and BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur. BRD Medical College and AIIMS are setting new records in the field of medicine every day. Sugarcane farmers are getting unexpected benefits from sugar mills. Gorakhpur and UP are getting a unique identity with the construction of ultra-modern infrastructure, expressways, six-lane, four-lane, new dimensions of development.
Sainik school was completed in three years
CM Yogi said that the Sainik School of Gorakhpur, which has been completed in a short period of three years, will play an important role in shaping the future of future generations. This is the first Sainik School in eastern Uttar Pradesh, being built at a cost of Rs 176 crore, in which residential education facilities will be provided to students from class 6 to 12. This Sainik School will build future generations and will prove helpful in making them understand the duties of life. Students coming out of the Sainik Institute will pave the way for nation building and developed India in the future.
It is a matter of good fortune that the Sainik School was inaugurated by an alumnus
The Chief Minister said that the first Sainik School in the country was established in Lucknow in 1960 by the then Chief Minister Sampurnanand ji. Thereafter, in 1961, the then Defence Minister of the country also started 5 new Sainik Schools. Welcoming the Vice President, he said that it is our good fortune that this Sainik School is being inaugurated by the lotus hands of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, who was an alumnus of Chittorgarh Sainik School during the period 1962 to 1969.
Auditorium of Sainik School named after General Bipin Rawat
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that in this Sainik School, along with separate campuses for boys and girls, an auditorium has been constructed in the name of the country’s first CDS General Bipin Rawat. A multipurpose hall as well as Eklavya shooting range and swimming pool have also been constructed in the name of martyr Captain Vikram Batra in Kargil. An administrative building has been built in the Sainik campus on the basis of ancient Indian culture and tradition. It also has 20 classrooms, 4 laboratories, dining hall multipurpose hall, conference hall. The auditorium has a capacity of 1014 seats. Under this, facilities of yoga center for meditation centre, indoor shooting range, swimming pool and CSD canteen are also available. Residential houses have been constructed for the students in the name of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Shaheed Pt. Ram Prasad Bismil, Shaheed Bandhu Singh and Veerangana Rani Laxmibai. Clean and healthy special food will also be arranged for the students every day in Annapurna Bhawan. To increase the mental and physical abilities of the students in Sainik School, various sports competitions will be organized at fixed intervals. For which, basketball court, volleyball court, football ground, tennis court, badminton court etc. have been constructed keeping in view the various sports.
Best effort to give best education to new generation
CM Yogi said that the government is making its best efforts to provide the best education to the new generation. He said that more than 1 lakh 56 thousand schools run by the Basic Education Department in the state are being made complete by covering them with basic facilities through public participation and Operation Kanyakalp. This work has been done in 1 lakh 34 thousand schools. CM Yogi said that Atal Residential Schools have been running in all the 18 divisional headquarters of the state since the last session. Day care schools will be opened in the remaining 57 districts. He said that under the PM Shri Yojana, work is also being done to take forward 1707 basic and secondary schools by equipping them with the best facilities.
