Those involved in Pahalgam terror attack will get a tough answer: Rajnath

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on Wednesday that those involved in the cowardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir will be given a befitting reply in the “near future” and India cannot be “frightened” with any such terrorist activity.

He also said that India will not only find those who attacked, but will also find out those who conspired to “sit behind the screen” to carry out this nefarious act on Indian earth.

Terrorists attacked South Kashmir’s leading tourist destination Pahalgam on Tuesday, killing at least 26 people and injuring several others. The Defense Minister made this comment giving the annual Arjan Singh memorial lecture.

A few hours before the address, Singh reviewed the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir in a meeting of about two and a half hours. The meeting was attended by National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, Chief Defense President General Anil Chauhan, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K, Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh and Defense Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh.

The Defense Minister said, “Our country lost many innocent citizens in a cowardly attack by terrorists targeting religion in Pahalgam yesterday. This extremely inhuman act has put all of us in deep sorrow and pain. “Singh said,” I want to assure the countrymen from this platform that the Government of India will take every step in view of this incident which will be necessary and appropriate. ”

The Defense Minister said, “India is such an old civilization and such a big country that it cannot be afraid of any terrorist activity.” He said, “Those responsible for such acts will get a befitting reply in the near future.”

Singh described the attack in Pahalgam as “extremely inhuman”, which “has made us all sad”. He said, “First of all I express my deep condolences to all those families who have lost their loved ones. In this hour of sorrow, I pray to God for the peace of the departed souls. ”

He said, “I would like to reiterate India’s determination that our policy against terrorism is not to tolerate (zero tolerance).” Singh said that every citizen of India is united against this cowardly act.

All possible aspects of the situation in Jammu and Kashmir were discussed in the high level meeting chaired by Singh. Sources refused to share detailed information in this regard.

It is being told that Singh has instructed the armed forces to increase their war readiness and intensify anti -terrorism campaigns. At the meeting, Army Chief General Dwivedi presented a detailed description of the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, including the deployment of the army.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Tuesday that those who are behind this “disgusting act” will be brought to the dock of justice.

Since the terrorist attack, there have been several meetings on the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir. Modi ended his two -day visit to Saudi Arabia and returned to New Delhi this morning. Home Minister Amit Shah reached Srinagar on Tuesday evening to lead the security system.
