Two strong MPs of Trinamool Congress (TMC), Kalyan Banerjee and Mahua Moitra, have once again come face to face. After a public dispute about three months ago, this time the debate on the Kolkata Law College gang rape case has created a new dispute between the two. In fact, Banerjee had made a controversial remarks on this heinous crime, which Moitra strongly criticized, after which the new controversy started.
Kalyan Banerjee’s controversial statement
The matter was hot when Kalyan Banerjee targeted the gang rape victim and said that women should know with whom they are going out. Soon after the incident came to light on Friday, he told reporters in Kolkata, “Those who are walking with such people should understand with whom they are going with.” His statement was considered as embarrassing the victim.

Mahua Moitra’s retaliation
In response to this, Mahua Moitra, while taking a sarcasm at the party, said that she was not condemning the ‘baseless statements’ of her leaders. Tagging the official post of TMC on ‘X’ (first Twitter), he wrote, ‘There is a hatred towards women in India. The separation of @AItCOFFICIL is that we condemn these disgusting comments, no matter what they do.

Banerjee attacked Moitra’s personal life
Following this criticism by Moitra, Kalyan Banerjee targeted her marriage by making a personal attack. Banerjee said, ‘Mahua returned to India after her honeymoon and started fighting with me! She accuses me of being anti -woman, what is she? He has broken 40 years of marriage and married a person who is 65 years old. Did she not hurt the woman? An MP who was expelled from Parliament for violation of morality is preaching me! She is the biggest female anti -woman. She only knows how to secure her future and earn money. ‘
Significantly, Mahua Moitra has recently married former BJD MP Pinaki Mishra from Odisha. Banerjee’s comment is a straight and sharp attack on Moitra’s personal life, which is deepening the controversy.
