US President Donald Trump said that he had ordered a series of air strikes on Yemen’s capital Sana on Saturday. He promised that until Iran-backed rebels stop their attacks on the cargo ships visiting the important maritime corridors, they would ‘attack’ with full force.
Trump said in a post on social media, “Our brave soldiers are carrying out airstrikes on terrorists’ bases, their masters and missile defense mechanisms to protect American waterways, air and naval properties and restore shipping freedom.”
“Any terrorist strength will not be able to stop American commercial and naval ships from moving on the world’s waterways independently,” he said. Trump also warned Iran to shut down the support of the rebellious group and promised that he would ‘completely accountable’ to Iran for its acts.
