Putting an end to all the speculations being made about the attack on Donald Trump about two weeks ago, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on Friday confirmed that the former US President was indeed shot in the ear during a rally in Pennsylvania.
“A bullet or fragment from the attacker’s rifle struck former President Trump’s ear,” the FBI said in a statement. FBI Director Christopher Wray made some vague comments about the attack earlier this week, leading to speculation about whether Trump was actually shot.
Trump and his allies were angered by this comment. Law enforcement officials involved in the investigation, including the FBI and the Secret Service, have not yet clarified why Trump was injured.
Trump’s campaign team also refused to release the medical records of the hospital where the former president was treated after being injured. All information regarding Trump’s health was received either from Trump himself or from his former White House physician Ronny Jackson.
The FBI later issued a statement confirming that the shooting was “an attempted assassination of former President Trump, resulting in his injury and the death of a heroic father, while several others were injured.”
