A 46 -year -old man working as a cashier in a private company due to a financial dispute in Gurugram, Haryana, was allegedly murdered by one of his colleagues with his friend. The police gave this information on Saturday.
Officials said the accused Avnish Kumar, a resident of Sampur village of Kanpur countryside and Bobby Kumar, a resident and taxi driver of Nangla Bihara village in Kasganj, were arrested on Friday night.
He said that the police had recovered the body on January 23 from an empty plot in Binaula village, after which an FIR was lodged against unknown persons at Bilaspur police station on the basis of a complaint of the sarpanch of the village.
Officials said on Friday that the victim has been identified as Rakesh, a resident of Mahavir Enclave in Palam, Delhi. Police said during interrogation, it was found that Avnish, who worked as a ‘rider’ in a private company in Sector 53, Gurugram, borrowed Rs 30,000 from the company’s cashier Rakesh during Diwali in 2024.
A police official said Avnish allegedly conspired to kill Rakesh along with his friend Bobby for not paying the amount. According to the plan, the official said that the accused called Rakesh to Shankar Chowk on 22 January on the pretext of returning the money.
A police spokesperson said that he took Rakesh to Bobby’s car to Panchgaon Chowk, where he strangled him with a cloth and threw the body in Betanala village. Police said that the car used in the crime has been confiscated and further investigation is on.
