According to news agency Reuters, there were 8 drone attacks in Kazan, out of which 6 were on residential buildings. According to reports, multiple UAVs loaded with explosives attacked buildings in Kazan, Russia, causing fires in the buildings. It is being reported that three kamikaze drones have attacked residential high-rise buildings in the Russian city of Kazan.

According to TASS, emergency services rushed to the scene of the attack. Although residents are being evacuated from the affected building, no casualties have been reported so far. Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry said on its Telegram channel that its air defense forces had shot down a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle over the Republic of Tatarstan, whose capital is Kazan. This statement was later cited by the city administration. Since the Russia–Ukraine conflict began in February 2022, Ukrainian drones have been intercepted several times over the Russian capital Moscow as well as other Russian regions. However, only a few UAVs have been able to reach the target.

Just two days ago, Russian President Putin had said that he is ready to stop the Ukraine war. Putin said Russia is ready to talk to anyone, including President Volodymyr Zelensky.
