Union Minister Chirag Paswan met Nitish Kumar and discussed the incidents of collapse of under-construction bridges in Bihar

Patna. Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan on Sunday met Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for the first time after becoming a Union Minister. Paswan shared some pictures of his meeting with the Chief Minister on the social media platform 'X' and wrote, “After taking oath as a Union Minister, today for the first time I made a courtesy visit to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at his residence and took his blessings.”

Hajipur MP Paswan wrote, “In the year 2014, the Chief Minister amended the previous rules and made provision for the reinstatement of the dependents of Dafadar/Chowkidar under voluntary retirement and made provision for Bihar Chowkidar Cadre Rules 2014, under which the dependents of Dafadar/Chowkidar have been reinstated till 2023. The appointment letters have not yet been issued to the dependents of the previously retired and retiring Dafadars/Chowkidars and the remaining dependents of voluntary retirement, while the process of new reinstatement has been started in one or two districts, which is a matter of concern. My party Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) demands that this process be reinstated as before.”

Paswan wrote, “These days, incidents of collapse of under-construction bridges are coming to the fore in Bihar. I expressed my concerns to the Chief Minister about this. The Chief Minister has also assured that the relevant departmental action will be taken on these matters as soon as possible.”

Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) sources said Paswan has assured Kumar of full support in the by-election to the Rupauli assembly seat on Wednesday. The by-election is being held on the seat vacated by the resignation of MLA Bima Bharti. Kumar has given ticket to Kamaladhar Prasad Mandal of JD(U) from this seat. Paswan is scheduled to address a rally on Sunday afternoon, in which he will be accompanied by Union Minister and Hindustani Awam Morcha chief Jitan Ram Manjhi.
