Vandre West assembly seat is one of the 288 constituencies of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. In the year 2019, the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate had won this seat. Vandre is also known as Bandra. This seat falls in Mumbai Suburban District district of Maharashtra. In the year 2019, a total of 57.11 percent votes were cast in Vandre West. In the 2019 assembly elections, BJP’s Ashish Shelar defeated Asif Ahmed Zakaria of the Indian National Congress. Elections are to be held in Maharashtra in one phase i.e. on 20th November. BJP has once again expressed confidence in Ashish Shelar, while Congress has fielded Asif Ahmed Zakaria.

Vandre West Assembly seat is one of the major and prestigious seats of Maharashtra. The political maneuvers here have always been important. Baba Siddiqui’s dominance
In the 2009 assembly elections, this seat was dominated by Baba Siddiqui of Congress. He was considered a respected and popular leader in Vandre West region. On October 12, 2024, Baba Siddiqui was murdered by some shooters. In the 2014 elections, Bharatiya Janata Party has won a big victory from this seat. BJP’s young and enthusiastic leader Ashish Shelar had won this seat by breaking the Congress stronghold. Ashish had worked to strengthen BJP’s hold on Bandra West seat.

Talking about the 2019 assembly elections, Congress had to face a crushing defeat here. BJP’s Ashish Shelar had won from Vandre West seat. Let us tell you that Ashish is considered a young and energetic leader. Ashish got 74,816 votes in this election. Ashish had given a crushing defeat to Asif Ahmed Zakaria of Congress.
