Birth and education
Venkaiah Naidu was born on 01 July 1949 in Chovatpalem in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh. He started his early education VR of Nellore. Completed from high school. Then VR Graduated in politics and diplomatic studies from college. In 1974, he became the President of the Students Union at Andhra University.
Political journey
Venkaiah Naidu was associated with active politics as a student leader in Andhra Pradesh. At the first stop of politics, he left a mark of his talent, oratory ability and organization skills. He preferred to work with the Sangh and put the idea above personal interests. Venkaiah Naidu later strengthened the Jana Sangh and then the Bharatiya Janata Party. In 1978, Andhra Pradesh voted in favor of Congress, when Venkaiah Naidu won even after adverse circumstances.
At the same time, when NTR had the highest popularity in the state after 5 years, Naidu was still elected BJP MLA. His victory worked to sow future seeds for the Bharatiya Janata Party in South India including Andhra Pradesh. In the Atal Bihari government, when Naidu was asked which ministry he wanted to work, he chose the Ministry of Rural Development as his priority. Naidu had an important role in landing the ‘Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana’ as a minister. He has been the President of BJP from 2000 to 2004.
When the NDA government took power in 2014, Naidu took charge of important ministries like urban development, housing and urban poverty alleviation. During the tenure of Venkaiah Naidu, many important schemes related to ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ and other urban development started.
Vice -presidential post
In 2017, Venkaiah Naidu was nominated as the Vice Presidential candidate. After which Venkaiah Naidu defeated Gopalakrishna Gandhi in the election held on 05 July 2017 and he was elected the 13th Vice President of India. On 11 August 2017, he became the Vice President, he held the post till 10 August 2022.

In 2024, Venkaiah Naidu was awarded the Padma Vibhushan.
