In the Nagpur violence case, eight members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal surrendered to the Kotwali police on Wednesday. The Nagpur police had registered an FIR against him for hurting religious sentiments. The arrests were involved in their protests demanding the removal of the tomb of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The police took him into custody and produced him in court today. To curb such incidents, Maharashtra DGP Rashmi Shukla has asked the district SP to take small incidents that promote struggle in the state seriously and end them before they start. The state police chief also asked the policemen to ensure that more police forces were present on the roads and proper arrangements should be made.

What was the reason for violence?
The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) protested in various government offices on Monday and submitted memorandum to remove Aurangzeb’s tomb in Khuldabad. In a memorandum addressed to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the VHP said that Aurangzeb killed two sons of Sikh Guru Guru Govind Singh because he refused to convert, Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj tortured and killed the temples in Kashi, Mathura and Somnath.
What did CM Fadnavis of Maharashtra say
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis claimed that the violence was pre -planned, and he attributed the release of the film Chhava to “increased sentiments”, which depicted the cruel atrocities committed by Aurangzeb against Sambhaji Maharaj. On Monday, he said that the government is bound to protect Aurangzeb’s tomb which is a protected site, but it will not allow efforts to glorify their legacy through Mahima Mandan.
Will the preserved status of Aurangzeb’s grave be removed
The Shiv Sena (UBT) on Wednesday urged the Central Government to remove the status of the preserved monument of Aurangzeb’s grave in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. He argues that this will help prevent communal stress. This demand has been made in the recent violence in Nagpur after right -wing protests. The party, through its mouthpiece Saamana, accused the BJP and the RSS of using the issue for political gains, bypassing the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji and Sambhaji Maharaj.

Faheem Khan, the mastermind of Nagpur violence caught
Faheem Khan, known as the mastermind behind the Nagpur riots, has been arrested and he is in police custody till March 21. He spread a false rumor of burning the holy cloth on Aurangzeb’s grave, which erupted violence. Khan, who contested the parliamentary elections against Nitin Gadkari, gathered a crowd outside a police station on Monday afternoon. The riots led to attacks on police officers including women officials.
RSS does not support any kind of violence
RSS National Publicity In -charge (All India Publicity Head) Sunil Ambekar commented on Nagpur violence, saying that the issue of Aurangzeb is not currently relevant, and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) does not support any kind of violence. He clarified the attitude of the organization on the ongoing Aurangzeb controversy in Maharashtra and the recent violence in Nagpur. Ambekar was speaking at a press conference held in the backdrop of the RSS’s upcoming All India House of Representatives (All India House of Representatives) to be held in Bangalore.
