We did what we were asked to do, Shashi Tharoor said after the tour of five countries was over

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor returned to Delhi after completing five Latin American countries and the United States diplomatic tour as part of the government’s global outreach mission after Operation Sindoor. The aim of this mission was to raise international support for India’s stand on cross -border terrorism in view of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April, killing 26 tourists. Shashi Tharoor led Group 5 of seven all -party delegations of India.

Talking to reporters on returning, Tharoor expressed satisfaction over delegations in five countries Panama, Guyana, Columbia, Brazil and the United States. Tharoor said that I think it was a very good journey. We are all very happy with how we welcomed in the five countries where we went. We felt that everywhere we have got good results-high-quality meetings were held with the Presidents, Prime Ministers, Sub-Vosters and very senior negotiaters. Tharoor said that the international community “fully understood” India’s response to the Pahalgam attack accepted the restraint shown in its military campaign by New Delhi.
He said that many of the people we talked to, expressed special respect for the restraint shown in our response. We have come out of this situation very well. Tharoor highlighted a notable success during the stagnation of the delegation in Colombia. The South American country initially issued a statement expressing condolences to Pakistani casualties without fully understanding the context of Operation Sindoor – India’s targeted attack on terrorist structures in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Tharoor said that in Colombia, one thing that was positive for us was that we really forced them to change our stance, perhaps without enough. He said that when we explained everything, he withdrew his statement. Subsequently, the caretaker Foreign Minister spoke to the media and accepted his support for our stand. He said that as far as the government is concerned, I feel that the purpose of sending MPs is to showcase India’s unity beyond political boundaries and at the same time, give an effective message to government officials, MLAs, think tanks and opinion manufacturers as well as media and where the migrant community is appropriate. All this was completed very well. Therefore, I would say that God is thankful, we did what we were asked to do and we are returning home very tired and very happy.
