Rashtriya Janata Dal leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav took a sarcasm at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and said that the CM has been hijacked and RJD is hurt by Nitish Kumar’s situation. Tejashwi Yadav told reporters in Patna, “We are saddened by the situation the Chief Minister (Nitish Kumar) is going through. We repeatedly tell the Chief Minister that he is tired now. The Chief Minister is proving that someone else is running Bihar, the Chief Minister has been hijacked.”

Earlier on 16 April, the Election Commission of India (ECI) started preparing for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections, in which more than 200 booth-level agents participated in the national level training program at India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management, Delhi. According to sources, the Election Commission has intensified efforts to hold smooth, free and fair elections to be held later this year.

Significantly, in February this year, after the appointment of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, this will be the first assembly election which he will monitor. Meanwhile, in addition to 200 BLA of Bihar, a total of 1 lakh officers will be trained in IIDEM in the coming years. The training was inaugurated by the CEC on 26 March and underlined the importance of training. CEC Kumar said, “India’s election is the largest election in the world. The Election Commission makes 10,50,000 booths to conduct this election. Every polling station has a booth level officer who helps in making voter list and goes from house to house to check the names in the voter list.”
