Mark Carney will become the next Prime Minister of Canada after an overwhelming majority in the Leader of the Liberal Party, he will be the successor of Justin Trudeau. Carney won a stunning victory by scoring 85.9 percent of the votes in the leadership of the Liberal Party. Who is Mark Carney?

59 -year -old Mark Carney is a very respected economist and former central banker who is known for his leadership in both Bank of Canada and Bank of England.

Carney was born on 16 March 1965 in a small town of Fort Smith in the northwestern region of Canada and was raised in Admonton, Alberta.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Harvard University in 1988. He later studied further at the University of Oxford, where he obtained a master and doctoral degree in economics.

Like many Canadians, Carney was also fond of ice hockey and also worked as a backup goalkeeper for Harvard’s team during his college days.

Carney served as the Governor of the Bank of Canada from 2008 to 2013, where he played an important role in advancing the country during the global financial crisis. During that period his leadership gave him an international recognition.

The next Prime Minister of Canada and former central banker Markar Carney said that if he takes charge, he will again make his country’s relations comfortable with India. Before being elected the leader of the ruling Liberal Party in Calgary on Tuesday, Carney said that Canada wants to diversify his business relations with similar -ideology countries. He said that there are opportunities to make relations with India comfortable again.
