With the history of cultural and strategic exchange, India and Iran are searching for ways to promote trade and investment. The two countries have signed several agreements, including a 10 -year contract to develop the Chabahar port, which can provide India access to Central Asia and Afghanistan.

Amidst the ongoing concerns over Trump’s tariff declaration, Iran’s supreme leader Imam Syed Ali Khamenei vowed to expand the trade relations with the economic centers of Asia like India, China and Russia. Khamenei has said that Tehran should promote economic relations with the Economic Center of Asia, he said that neighboring countries should be given priority. The Iranian Supreme Leader wrote X to expand business relations by giving priority to neighboring countries. Economic relations with countries considered to be economic centers in Asia, such as China, Russia and India, should be made smooth. Khamenei’s statement came a few days after the announcement of tariff threats by US President Donald Trump, which has been postponed for 90 days.

Apart from this, it has also been reported that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will soon visit India. Meanwhile, according to Iran’s official television, the supreme leader said in his first public remarks on talks that the first round of talks with the United States was good. Khamenei said that we are neither completely optimistic nor pessimistic about the talks. However, he said that the talks were good in the first phase and Iran remains pessimism about America. He urged the officials not to add the matters of the country to the talks, whose second round is going to be on Saturday.
