The Dominican Republic official, in association with American federal law enforcement agencies, is intensifying the search for 20 -year -old Sudiksha Connaki, who is a student of Pittsburgh University and went missing while holidaying in Punta Kana. A permanent American resident and an Indian citizen was last seen on a beach near her resort on the morning of 6 March. Sudiksha Konanki was holidaying at the Riu Republic Resort with five women college friends, when she went missing.

According to the report, he and his group were in a nightclub on the night of 5 March and moved to the beach at 4 am. The surveillance footage has confirmed that most of his friends returned to the hotel at 5.55 am, but Konanki stayed on the beach with a man, whose identity has not been released. He later told the investigators that he had gone to swim and was hit by a strong wave. When they returned to the shore, they vomited and they slept on the lounge chair, but when they got up, they found that the connanki was missing. He was seen returning to his hotel room at 9.55 am.

The authorities have not found evidence of any kind of disturbance, but a sarong-style cover-up of Connank was found on a beach chair near its disappearance. His phone and wallet remained with his friends, which increased the concern about his safety. The Loudown County Sheriff Office (LCSO) has requested Interpol to issue a global alert, yellow notice for missing persons.
