According to the Times of India report, 51-year-old Rahul Dravid may return as the head coach of Sanju Samson-led team i.e. Rajasthan Royals. It may be announced soon. TOI has quoted a source as saying that talks are going on between Rajasthan Royals and Rahul Dravid. An announcement regarding this is going to be made soon.
Rahul Dravid has a long association with Rajasthan Royals. He has been the captain of the team as well as a mentor. In 2013, under Dravid’s captaincy, Rajasthan Royals played the final of the Champions League T20. Apart from this, the team reached the playoffs of IPL. After this, he was the mentor of the team in 2014 and 2015. In 2015, the team finished third.
Rahul Dravid was the mentor of Delhi Capitals in 2016 and 2017. Dravid was also associated with BCCI since 2015. He was the head coach of Team India Under-19 and India A team. After this, he was the head of the National Cricket Academy. Then he became the coach of the Indian team in October 2021. And his tenure ended after the T20 World Cup 2024 this year.
