Age Limit
Candidates who are in the age group of 18 to 37 years can apply. Check age relaxation rules as per government policy in the notification.
Mode Of Selection
- Must be able to speak Punjabi language. The board will not recruit any person who cannot speak Punjabi language. They must have a Matriculation degree where Punjabi was their compulsory or optional subject.
- Firefighters must be in good physical shape and be able to perform the complex duties of a firefighter. Their age should preferably be below 37 years.
PSSSB Physical Fitness Standards
- Climb a rope or a vertical pipe to a height of 8-10 feet from the ground.
- Covering a distance of 100 yards in one minute carrying a stone weighing 60 kg.
- Raising the hook ladder to a vertical position from the third and sixth turns.

Age Limit
- The candidate should have attained the age of 18 years as on 1st January 2021 but should not be more than 37 years.
- The maximum age limit for SC/ST and BC candidates of Punjab State will be 42 years.
- The maximum age limit for State and Central Government employees will be 45 years with relaxation in maximum age limit.
- In case of ex-servicemen residing in Punjab, the maximum age limit shall be as per the Ex-Servicemen Punjab Recruitment Rules, 1982 as amended from time to time. This age limit is after deducting the period of service rendered in the armed forces from his age, provided that he satisfies the age limit conditions.
- The maximum age limit for disabled persons residing in Punjab will be 47 years with relaxation of 10 years.

(i) must possess a graduate degree from a recognised university or institute;
and
(II) Have a course of at least one hundred and twenty hours in Office Productivity Applications or Desktop Publishing Applications from a Government recognized Institute or an Institution of repute having ISO accreditation with practical experience in the use of personal computers or Information Technology.

A Computer Information Technology course equivalent to the ‘O’ Level certificate of the Department of Electronics Accreditation of Computer Courses (DOEACC), Government of India. And
(III) passes a test in Punjabi (in Unicode compliant font Ravi) and English typing at a speed of thirty words per minute conducted by the Board or the appointing authority or the Department of Information Technology, as the case may be, before the date of appointment (as specified in the Punjab Civil Services (General and General Conditions of Service) Rules, 1994) and
(IV) passes the competitive examination conducted by the recruiting authority
Clerk IT :
(I) B.Tech in Computer Science or B.Sc. (Information Technology) or Graduation in Computer Applications or Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications from a recognized University or Institute or any other equivalent or higher qualification in the relevant field
discipline; and
(ii) passes a test in Punjabi (in Unicode compliant font Ravi) and English typing, to be held by the Board or the appointing authority or the Department of Information Technology, at a speed of thirty words per minute before his/her appointment (as specified in the Punjab Civil Services (General and General Conditions of Service) Rules, 1994)
Accounts Clerk :
(i) B.Com from a recognised University or Institute or any other equivalent or higher qualification in the relevant subject; and
(II) Have a course of at least one hundred and twenty hours with practical experience in use of personal computers or Information Technology in office productivity applications or desktop publishing applications from a Government recognized Institute or an Institute of repute which is ISO 9001 certified.
