pm modi to inaugurate underground metro in pune on september 26 fadnavis

Pune: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new underground metro rail and lay the foundation stone of an ‘elevated route’ in Pune on September 26. ‘Elevated road’ is constructed at places where there is heavy traffic. It is technically like a bridge. Fadnavis was in Pune along with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and other leaders to inaugurate various projects for the district. Speaking on development works in the district at an event, Fadnavis thanked Gadkari for the four-lane Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi Marg and Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi Marg from Pandharpur to Pune.

He said, “The final phase of this route will start soon and we will complete the construction of this entire road. I feel happy and honored that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari have taken so many decisions for Palkhi Marg.” The Deputy Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the underground metro corridor from ‘Civil Court’ to Swargate. He will also lay the foundation stone for extending this route from Swargate to Katraj and building an ‘elevated route’ from Pimpri Chinchwad to Nigdi.

Fadnavis said, “We are building new phases for Pune Metro. During Ganpati festival, 3.5 lakh people travelled by metro for idol immersion. Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the new metro route on September 26 and perform bhoomipujan for the second route. Pune will become one of the best urban residential centers in the coming days.” Fadnavis said that Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol has proposed to name the Pune airport after Saint Tukaram Maharaj. He said, “This proposal will now be sent to the Center and Mohol and Gadkari sahab will take further action on it.
