Andhra Pradesh: Former Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy was accused in a deadly road accident case

Yuvjan Shramik Raithu Congress Party (YSRCP) chief and former Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has recently been accused in a deadly road accident while going to Rentapalla village in Palnadu district. A police officer gave this information on Sunday.

The official said that on June 18, Jaganmohan Reddy had gone to Rentapalla to meet the family member of the YSR Congress party leader who committed suicide a year ago. The former Chief Minister’s vehicle passed through Etukuru bypass while going to Rentapalla.

Guntur district Superintendent of Police (SP) S Satish Kumar told reporters late on Sunday night, “After analyzing various evidences, it was found that the person who lost his life in the accident was crushed under the wheels of Jaganmohan Reddy’s vehicle.”

Kumar said that on receiving the information, the elderly Singaiya was found to be seriously injured and was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Based on the complaint of Singaiya’s wife Chili Lurdhu Mary, a case was registered at the local police station under Section 106 (1) (deathless death) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS).

The official said after analyzing CCTV footage, drone footage and circumstantial evidence, the police confirmed the former Chief Minister of Singaiya to be crushed by the vehicle.

The police, after the person was confirmed to be crushed, included Section 105 (culpable homicide) and section 49 (Ukasana) of BNS in the case and intensified the investigation of the circumstances involved.

Kumar told reporters that apart from Jaganmohan Reddy, the accused among the other accused, Ramna Reddy, Private Assistant K.K. Nageshwar Reddy, YSR Congress Party leader YV Subbaarddy, former MLA Parani Venkataramaiah and former minister Vidadla Rajni are included.
