Apology to all cricket fans and BCCI: Shami

Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami has apologized to the fans and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) as the board has decided not to rush his return for the Australia tour as he is yet to regain match fitness.

Shami completed his ‘rehabilitation’ at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) after undergoing surgery. But his comeback plans were put on hold due to swelling in his knees.

However, Shami had recently announced that he has no pain. Shami posted a video of his training on Instagram and said that he will make a comeback soon. The 34-year-old bowler said, “I am trying and improving my bowling fitness day by day. Will continue to work hard to prepare for the matches and play domestic red ball cricket. I apologize to all the cricket fans and also to BCCI. But very soon I am ready to play red ball cricket, love you all. ,

Shami is set to return to competitive cricket after a long injury layoff ahead of the Australia tour for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He is expected to play in Bengal’s next Ranji Trophy match against Karnataka in the first week of November. He was not selected for the five-match Test series in Australia.
