big action by punjab police bikram majithia arrested in drugs case

Former Punjab minister and leader of the Shiromani Akali Dal Bikram Majithia was arrested on Wednesday by a team of Punjab Vigilance Bureau after raiding his house in Amritsar. The Punjab Police Special Investigation Team (SIT) is investigating the 2021 drug case against Majithia. The bureau, along with the police, raided 25 places in Punjab, including nine places in Amritsar, including Majithia’s place, which is the brother -in -law of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal. Following the arrest of Majithia, Vigilance Bureau Punjab said that an investigation conducted by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and Vigilance Bureau investigating the FIR registered in the police station Punjab State Crime has revealed that a large-scale drug money has been transacted by Bikram Singh Majithia.

News agency ANI quoted Vigilance Bureau Punjab as saying that preliminary investigation has revealed that the money of drugs worth more than Rs 540 crore has been looted in various ways, in which huge cash of Rs 161 crore deposited in bank accounts of companies controlled by Bikram Singh Majithia, cash of Rs 161 crore, cash, Rs 141 crore through suspected foreign institutions, revival of Rs 141 crore through suspected foreign institutions. Additional deposits of crores of rupees and acquisition of movable/immovable property without any valid income source by Bikram Singh Majithia.

Majithia and his wife claimed that a member of the Vigilance Bureau forcibly entered his house in Green Avenue in Amritsar. He claimed that a similar raid was conducted at his residence in Chandigarh. As soon as a team of officers entered Majithia’s house, Kaur asked the officials, what is happening? I want to know what is happening. How did you enter my house without my knowledge? He can be heard arguing with a vigilance officer, expressing disappointment over the way the officers entered his house.
