The 33rd meeting of the work system (WMCC) for consultation and coordination on India-China border affairs was held on 25 March 2025 in Beijing. The Indian delegation was led by Joint Secretary (East Asia) Gauranglal Das and the Chinese delegation was led by Hong Liang, Director General of the Department of Border and Ocean Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Foreign Affairs. In this meeting held in a positive and creative environment, a comprehensive review of the situation on the Line of Actual Control in India-China border areas was done. Peace and harmony on the border are important for smooth development of overall bilateral relations. The two sides discussed various measures and proposals to make effective decisions taken during the 23rd meeting of special representatives on the Indo-China border question in Beijing in December 2024 and to further the effective border management.

Both sides agreed to maintain and strengthen the relevant diplomat and military system in this direction. He also discussed the restoration of border cross-border cooperation and exchanges quickly, including discussions on the border rivers and Kailash-Mansarovar Yatra. The two sides agreed to work together to make adequate preparations for the next meeting of Special Representatives (SR), which will be held in India later this year.
