The Congress on Thursday attacked the government after US President Donald Trump invited Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir on lunch, saying it was a “big shock” for Indian diplomacy. Congress general secretary and communication in -charge Jairam Ramesh said that Field Marshal Marshars is not the head of Pakistan or the head of the government, but he is the army chief, yet Trump invites him for lunch and is very praiseworthy. Ramesh said on X that this is the same person whose brutal and inflammatory comments were the background of the cruel terrorist attacks in Pahalgam, which he presided over by the power establishment.

Taking a sarcasm at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that this is a major setback for Indian diplomacy (and feeling of hug). The Congress has been taking sarcasm at Modi, harassing foreign heads of foreign state during international or bilateral meetings. Meanwhile, Trump said that two very clever leaders of India and Pakistan decided not to continue a war that could have turned into a nuclear war that has happened for the first time in weeks. He did not take credit for stopping hostility between the two neighboring countries. Trump made this comment while talking to the media at the Oval office after inviting Munir for lunch at the White House on Wednesday.
