Bihar Weather Today: Mercury high in Bihar, go out after 4 pm, red alert issued regarding 'heat wave' in these six districts

According to the Meteorological Center, on Tuesday, a red alert has been issued regarding heat wave in six cities of the state, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Nawada, Sheikhpura, Khagaria and Bhagalpur.

Temperature will be like this in these 15 cities

Apart from this, orange alert was issued regarding heat wave in 15 cities Siwan, Darbhanga, Supaul, Purnia, Araria, Katihar, Rohtas, Bhojpur, Kaimur, Aurangabad, Begusarai, Lakhisarai, Munger and Banka. At the same time, orange alert has been issued regarding heat wave in Patna including Buxar, Bhojpur, Shivhar, Madhepura and Saharsa.

Hot days are expected in all the districts of the state including the capital. On Monday, hot westerly wind continued to flow from morning till late night in Patna and surrounding areas. The effect of heat wave continued in 14 cities including Patna.

Increase in maximum temperature of 25 cities

Patna, Valmiki Nagar, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Supaul, Motihari, Sheikhpura, Gopalganj, Khagaria, Banka, Katihar and Nawada remained in the grip of heat wave. Whereas, the effect of severe heat wave continued in Bhagalpur and Purnia. On Monday, an increase in the maximum temperature was recorded in 25 cities including Patna.

Patna's maximum temperature was 41.6 degrees Celsius, while Sheikhpura remained the hottest city of the state for the fourth day with 44.0 degrees Celsius.

At the same time, the maximum temperature in most of the districts including Patna was recorded above 41 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has advised people to stay in safe places from 11 pm to 4 pm to avoid heat wave.

Higher than normal temperatures in cities

On Monday, 14 cities including Patna were in the grip of heat wave due to the maximum temperature being above normal. The maximum temperature in Patna recorded an increase of 4.6 degrees Celsius above normal.

At the same time, it was 7.7 degrees in Bhagalpur, 6.9 degrees in Purnia, 4.6 degrees in Valmiki Nagar, 5.8 degrees in Khagaria, 4.7 degrees in Muzaffarpur, 5.4 degrees in Darbhanga, 6.3 degrees in Supaul, 5.3 degrees in Motihari, 6.4 degrees in Sheikhpura, 6.4 degrees in Gopalganj. The temperature increased by 5.2 degrees, 5.0 degrees in Banka, 5.8 degrees in Katihar and 4.7 degrees Celsius in Nawada.
