Carved silver purse, Kashmiri carpet … PM Modi gave special cautious to Cyprus President and First Lady

During his visit to Cyprus, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a warm indication of cultural diplomacy by presenting the best handmade gifts to Cyprus President Nicos Christodolidase and first woman Philipa Karsera. To President Christodolidase, Prime Minister Modi gifted a magnificent Kashmiri silk carpet gift – a brilliant piece of dark red, with light yellow and red borders. Carpets have used complex vine and geometric motifs, and its unique two-tone weaving technology creates an attractive optical illusion: it appears to be changing the color based on light and viewing angle, which gives two different carpets in the same carpet. This excellent work not only represents the legacy of Kashmiri artisans, but is also a symbol of timeless Indian craftsmanship.

The first woman Philipa Karsera was presented by PM Modi a beautiful silver clutch purse prepared in Andhra Pradesh. This clutch, created using ancient Repos metalworking technology, has ornate floral patterns inspired by temple architecture and royal designs. The middle pause adds an element of a semi-precious stone elegance, while its stylish curve, complex edge and beautiful handles mix traditional artistry with contemporary nature. Once reserved for festive opportunities, such clutch purses are now acclaimed as pieces of luxury accessories and collectible art.
