Had it been with the (Kolkata) police, we would have ensured that he was given death penalty. We don’t know how the investigation was conducted. Death penalty was ensured in several similar cases investigated by the state police. I am not satisfied.

The judge said in the judgment that apart from this, he is also sentenced to life imprisonment under Section 66.
