LDC/JSA & DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ (except DEO in the Department/Ministry mentioned above): Candidates must have passed 12th class or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
Pay Scale
- Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA): Pay Level-2 (Rs.19,900-63,200)
- Data Entry Operator (DEO): Pay Level-4 (Rs 25,500-81,100) and Level-5 (Rs 29,200-92,300)

Scheme of CHSL Examination
Candidates who applied online for Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Examination and found eligible will have to appear in computer examinations to be held in two levels:
- First tier
- Second Tier
In case the Computer Test is held in multiple shifts, the marks obtained by the candidates will be normalized using the formula published by the Commission and such normalized marks will be used for determining final merit and cut-off marks.
Tier I (Computer Based Exam)
The Tier-I exam will consist of objective type, multiple choice questions only. The questions will be asked in English, Hindi and any language opted by the candidate in the application form.
- Type of questions: The questions will be objective type, multiple choice questions.
- Total Marks: 200 Marks
- No. of questions: 100 questions
- Negative Marking: There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.
- Time Duration: 60 minutes (80 minutes for candidates eligible for scribe as per official notification).
