Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Thursday that the state budget for the financial year 2025-26 is important to make a roadmap for the next 25 years. He said that after the implementation of our Constitution, after a brilliant journey of 75 years, this budget is important to create a roadmap for our next 25 years. He said that this budget of more than 8 lakh 8 thousand crore rupees is 9.8% more than the budget of FY 2024-2025. In the budget, more than Rs 2 lakh 25 thousand crore has been proposed for capital expenditure, which will be spent on the infrastructure.
Yogi claimed that this would create employment which would strengthen the economy. Uttar Pradesh has emerged as the second largest economy in the country today. He said that 22% of the total budget has been allocated for the development of infrastructure. 13% of the total budget has been allocated for education. 11% of the total budget has been allocated to the agricultural sector. 6% of the total budget has been allocated to the medical sector. A provision of Rs 4,720 crore has been made for the scholarship. A provision of Rs 900 crore has been made for the marriage of the daughters of the poor.
The Chief Minister insisted that the budget 2025-26 has been designed with the theme of aid of the underprivileged. Yogi said that the double engine government is setting up Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial and Culture Center in Lucknow. We have designed the budget of 2025-2026 with the theme of assisting the underprivileged according to the basic feelings of the Constitution. The CM said that UP is the second largest economy in the country and the budget 1 trillion focuses on achieving the target of becoming a US dollar economy.
He also said that four new expressways will be built in the state and the government will give jobs to 92,000 youth. Underlining that the unemployment rate in the state has come down, CM Yogi said that the budget focuses on youth, entrepreneurs and women. Talking about the development of tourism in the state, he said that more than 65 crore tourists have come to Uttar Pradesh for the first time and more than 14 lakh were foreign tourists.
