BJP candidate from Kalkaji, Delhi, Ramesh Bidhuri is often surrounded in controversies due to his statements. This time he has created controversy by making objectionable remarks on Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi. Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate slammed the BJP over Bidhuri’s remarks and called the party an ‘anti-women party’. Shrinet described PM Modi as the originator of this anti-women language and thinking. He said, ‘The father of this anti-women language and thinking is PM Modi himself, who uses words like ‘Mangalsutra’ and ‘Mujra’. An apology should be made for this poor thinking.

Congress candidate Alka Lamba also criticized Bidhuri. He said, ‘The language of Kalka ji’s BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri has exposed his thinking and character towards women. I want to ask the people of Kalka ji, do you want such a public representative who uses derogatory words for our mothers, sisters and daughters? We want to know – What is the opinion of the top leadership of BJP on the objectionable statement of Ramesh Bidhuri? Will BJP say something to Ramesh Bidhuri or will he continue to see women being insulted as usual? We strongly oppose this statement. BJP should apologize for this.
Aam Aadmi Party has also strongly criticized Bidhuri’s remarks. AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh tweeted, ‘This is a BJP candidate, listen to his language. This is BJP’s respect for women. Is the honor of the women of Delhi safe in the hands of such leaders?

After the controversy arose, Bidhuri has clarified her comment. He told India Today TV that if today they (Congress) are saddened by this statement, then what about Hema ji? She has been a famous heroine and has brought glory to India through films. If Lalu’s statements are wrong, then my statements will also be wrong. Is Hema Malini not a woman? In terms of achievements in life, Hema Malini is much better than Priyanka Gandhi. Let us tell you, Bidhuri is contesting the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections from Kalka Ji, where he is facing competition from Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and Congress’s Alka Lamba.
