On Monday, sources said that the new Chief Minister of Delhi is likely to take oath at the historic ground Ramlila Maidan on 20 February. Also, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is planning a grand ceremony to celebrate the historic victory to commemorate the end of the 27 -year long drought in the national capital.
BJP Legislature Party meeting on February 19: Sources
Party sources said that BJP’s newly elected MLAs can hold a meeting on February 19 to select the new Chief Minister of Delhi in Delhi. He informed that the BJP’s National Leadership will send its observer for the Legislature Party meeting, in which the House leader will be selected in the Delhi Assembly.
The leader of the House will be the new Chief Minister of Delhi. Sources also said that a new government is likely to be formed in the national capital with the swearing -in ceremony of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers on 20 February.
Many BJP leaders are in the race for CM post
The names of several newly elected MLAs for the post of Chief Minister and Minister are in discussion. Pravesh Verma, who is considered to be at the forefront of the top post, was among Pravesh Verma, who defeated AAP chief and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the election from New Delhi seat, and former Delhi BJP president Vijendra Gupta and Satish Upadhyay. Pawan Sharma, Ashish Sood, Rekha Gupta and Shikha Rai are also contenders for the post of Chief Minister.
Many people in the party believe that BJP leadership like Rajasthan, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Chhattisgarh can also bet on one of the newly elected MLAs.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came to power in Delhi after more than 26 years after winning the assembly elections held on 5 February. This ended the 10 -year rule of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi. The saffron party won 48 out of 70 assembly seats in the capital.
