The Delhi High Court on Monday sought a response from the National Investigation Agency on the petition requested by the 15 -day custody of the Popular Front of India leader OMA Salaam.
Justice Ravinder Dudeja said, “Advocates of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) are asking for time to file a written reply. The hearing will be held on Friday, 25 April. ”
Salaam, arrested under the illegal activity (prevention) Act against the banned organization and its members, sought permission to travel in custody in his hometown in Kerala to attend the program after the daughter’s death.
The agency’s counsel said that the daughter of the petitioner died a year ago and would file a detailed reply. Salam moved the High Court against the recent order of the hearing court, giving him a day and six -hour custody parole.
The prisoner is taken to the place of meeting by armed policemen under detention parole. The advocate, appearing for Salaam, said that his daughter had died in an accident and had to do some customs including prayer at the daughter’s grave.
He said that this custom was scheduled to start from 18 April and end on May 2 and will bear the expenses of his custody parole. He said, “This is not a question of interim bail. There is no proper time for a day and six hours. ”
