At the inauguration of the 16th Bengaluru International Film Festival, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar expressed disappointment over the low presence of the Kannada film industry of South. In which Siddaramaiah announced that the Government of Karnataka will set up a world -class Film City in Mysore, for which 150 acres of land has already been allotted for the project.
He said, ‘Karnataka is a land of immense occasions. To further strengthen our film industry, we are developing a state -of -the -art Film City in Mysore. I hope that this feature will encourage the production of world class films, which mix human values easily with advanced technology. He also warned against promoting superstition and unconstitutional values in films and said, “Cinema should be a means of knowledge and not to fall.”
